The MX-5 was acquired from good friend Geoff Jacobs ("Jake") in the middle of 2006 and driven from Tasmania to Perth. It's 28 years old, but absolutely immaculate.

This site is a place to showcase Turnham Sports Cars — the history and the wonderful work done by Peter Turnbull who has produced such a wide variety of fine racing cars. My connection with Turnham is that Peter and I are old friends and I spent a lot of time hanging around Turnbull's Bodyworks in my youth — building my car and just sharing a common passion. I also share part of the 'name'.

News...

  • Peter, Jake and myself have had a fabulous motor racing trip to England & France in June-July 2014.
We had 5 weeks of a classic motor racing odyssey which was a great experience. We visited the Festival of Speed, Le Mans Classic, Brands Hatch Super Prix and Silverstone Classic plus a few museums such as the Donington Grand Prix Collection, Beaulieu National Motor Museum, RAF Museum. We reckon we must have seen every classic racing car in Europe!
When time permits I will link to some of the million photos I have...
  • Reg Lynch, a well known cartoonist for national newspapers has turned his hand to painting. This is the first serious painting he has done and Pete is the proud recipient. This painting was of Peter coming through the esses at Winton.
  • Photos of the Turnham TS8 Turbo rebuild and racing at Phillip Island and Winton
  • Peter Turnbull gets his CAMS licence back after 20 years. See stories...
  • I do some competition driving again with the MX5 — and enjoy it immensely.
